Dans le Manchester des années 1950, deux garçons passaient des heures terrés dans un abri antiaérien à rédiger une bande dessinée intitulée Cinq mille ans d’inquiétude consacrée aux souffrances du peuple juif. Drôle de tandem : d’un côté, Max Glickman, rejeton d’un ancien boxeur athée et communiste et d’une créature de rêve obsédée par des parties de cartes entre amies ; de l’autre, Manny Washinsky, sa famille orthodoxe, ses coutumes ancestrales, sa culture talmudique, sa fascination pour les nazis. Devenu dessinateur humoristique, Max a bâti sa carrière sur la dérision du judaïsme et sa vie personnelle sur sa passion pour les femmes non juives aux prénoms affublés d’un tréma. Manny pour sa part a passé ses plus belles années en prison, après avoir assassiné ses parents durant leur sommeil. Contacté par un producteur pour écrire un scénario portant sur l’incroyable histoire de Manny, Max renoue avec ce dernier lorsqu’il est libéré de prison. Peut-être, en revisitant leur enfance dans le quartier de Crumpsall Park, finira-t-il par comprendre ce qui a poussé son ami à commettre un crime abominable. Suffit-il, pour devenir un assassin, d’écouter les fantômes des pères de ses pères ?

L'Inde est un pays étrange. Vous revenez sans être pleinement conscient de ce que vous avez vraiment vu. Tout ce qui semble réel ne l'est pas. Et tout ce qui apparaît comme imprégné de bien et de surnaturel existe bel et bien. Cette situation douteuse est en fait l'incertitude de la photographie de rue : tout va trop vite, apparaît et disparaît constamment dans le viseur comme des visions que nous essayons de capturer, suivant les impulsions de notre inconscient. Ces photographies, pour citer Paul Eluard, sont celles d'un "autre monde qui est pourtant dans le nôtre" , invisible si on ne prend pas le temps de le regarder. Thierry Clech est un photographe et écrivain basé à Paris. Il utilise la photographie argentique et ses photos sont exclusivement en noir et blanc. Le travail de Clech en provenance d'Inde, du Japon, du Nicaragua, d'Ukraine, de La Havane et d'Afrique a été montré et publié en France et à l'étranger.

Italian Yearbook of Human Rights 2014
The Italian Yearbook of Human Rights 2014, the fourth in the series, provides a dynamic and up-to-date overview of the measures Italy has taken to adapt its legislation and policies to international human rights law and to comply with commitments voluntarily assumed by the Italian Government at the international level. The 2014 Yearbook surveys the activities of the relevant national and local Italian actors, including governmental bodies, civil society organisations and universities. It also presents reports and recommendations that have been addressed to Italy by international monitoring bodies within the framework of the United Nations, the Council of Europe and the European Union. Finally, the Yearbook provides a selection of international and national case-law that casts light on Italy's position vis-à-vis internationally recognised human rights. "Italy and human rights in 2013 : the challenges of social justice and the right to peace" is the focus of the introductory section of the Yearbook. With a view on the second Universal Periodic Review of Italy before the Human Rights Council, the Italian Agenda of Human Rights 2014, intended to be an orientation tool with regards to immediate and longterm measures that should be taken to ensure human rights for all in the Country, is integrated by an analysis of the status of implementation of the recommendations made to Italy during the first Universal Periodic Review (2010).

Finally, the Yearbook provides a selection of international and national case-law that casts light on Italy's position vis-à-vis internationally recognised human rights. "Italy and Human Rights in 2014 : the Challenge of National/International Constitutional Synergism" is the focus of the introductory section of the Yearbook. The complex network of monitoring actions carried out by the supranational bodies, and the relative reporting requirements Italy must meet, can only be viewed in the context of reciprocal exchange and strengthening between the provisions enshrined in the national Constitution and international human rights law. The Italian Agenda of Human Rights 2015 represents an updated orientation tool intended to support the commitment taken by the Italian Government in the framework of the second Universal Periodic Review (October 2014) before the UN Human Rights Council.
