" Présenter l'artiste comme une rock star " résume la ligne éditoriale de la collection Pleased to meet you qui souhaite offrir une approche la plus intime et inédite possible de l'artiste et de son oeuvre. Le choix du format " magazine ", à la structure plus libre et décontractée qu'un catalogue, est décisif pour susciter la proximité et l'empathie. Burroughs, Dorothy Iannone, Richard Jackson, Steve Gianakos ou André Cadere... Le dixième numéro est consacré à Marie Losier, dont l'oeuvre innervée par sa vie privée mêle dessins et films, installations et décors, en une autofiction euphorique et généreuse. Internationalement reconnue, Marie Losier est très régulièrement invitée dans des festivals, son oeuvre filmée fait l'objet de rétrospectives, son oeuvre dessinée est montrée en expositions. D'une carrière longue de plus de 20 ans, pourtant, aucun ouvrage ne vient retracer l'épopée. Cette publication viendra donc combler une lacune éditoriale et contenter à n'en pas douter le public nombreux et fervent de Marie Losier. Cet ouvrage projette de donner accès à la fois à sa filmographie grâce à des photographies de plateau, à son oeuvre plastique via des reproductions de ses dessins et vues de ses installations, mais aussi à un trésor d'archives que l'artiste a précieusement établi et conservé. Elaborée en étroite concertation avec Marie Losier, cette publication sera un reflet le plus fidèle possible de sa pensée et de son univers esthétique.

Here uo and uo are, respectively, static and quasistatic parts of the solution : us+ and us+ consists of a superposition of AH modes -- modes whose frequencies have no real part and thus do not propagate ; uxx consist of superpositions of surface-wave modes, propagating in opposite directions according to + or -; uop and up are superpositions of plane-wave modes having the frequencies of the upper and lower media respectively. The structure of the AH and surface-wave components is determined : the are essentially scalar waves, and it is shown how such waves can be constructed explicitly from solutions of a simple problem for the scalar wave equation.

Le principe conducteur des textes et de la maquette est de rendre accessible l'univers et la pensée qui innervent une oeuvre. Est-il encore nécessaire de présenter John Armleder ? Internationalement reconnu, son oeuvre est avant tout un essai de transformation du statut de l'oeuvre d'art, tant dans sa perception que sa réception. A l'occasion de son exposition au Musée régional d'art contemporain de Sérignan, Pleased to meet you consacre un opus à cet éternel dandy, dont l'oeuvre volontiers multiple et apparemment désordonnée s'inscrit dans des pratiques diverses. Ironie, détachement et indifférence apparentes sont des clés de lecture de cette oeuvre, mais surtout une grande jubilation couronne chacune des créations.

Si vos amis en question sont ces trois tarés immatures de Megg, Mogg et Werewolf Jones, alors certainement, oui ! Owl a attendu cette soirée d'anniversaire depuis longtemps ! Il a prévu de convier Megg et Mogg à L'Escargot Truffé, un haut lieu de la gastronomie française. Mais voilà que Werewolf Jones s'invite lui aussi sans demander et, une fois à table, le dîner prend très vite des allures de cauchemar. Ses trois " invités " n'ont aucune tenue et lui foutent la grosse honte dans le restaurant : ils jouent avec la nourriture, critiquent le serveur à voix haute, se bourrent la gueule, crachent par terre et importunent les clients. Résultat : pas de cadeau pour Owl, mais une addition salée et une soirée d'anniversaire qui va finir en longue et sombre nuit au poste de police.

The Pondera Online project aims to collect and study ancient and medieval weights. No attempt for such a global corpus has been successful since the end of the 19th century. Dispersed objects, disparate information and imprecise data together constitute a major obstacle to a comprehensive approach. Therefore, the Pondera Online project is intended to fill a gap in the collection, standardisation, and processing of these archaeological data, thanks to an open access database (https : //pondera. uclouvain. be/). In this framework, four annual workshops have been organised in Louvain-la-Neuve between 2016 and 2019, bringing together specialists in Greek, Roman, Byzantine and Islamic weights and measures. These meetings have led to a rich program of presentations and discussions, and to the preparation of several papers. Thirteen of them are gathered in this second collective volume.

From the village to presidential suite, my life journey
I did not intend to write a scholarly book, for I did not want to intellectualize my life. Nor did I wish to romanticize it. I wanted to describe it as I lived it, with emphasis on people. I wanted to express in this book the joy I experienced in giving generously of myself, my time, and my modest material possessions, to make others happy and to share the many gifts of life. I wanted also to share with those who aspire to become academic leaders the myriad lessons my upbringing, education, and professional life have taught me. I thought they might find these lessons learned useful, as they strive for successful careers and, more importantly, for rewarding personal and professional lives. Again, this book is a story, the story of my life, wherein the personal and the professional have intermingled and strengthened each other, making a better whole of my person, personality, aspirations, and talents. This unique alliance between the professional and the personal dimensions of my life, I am happy to say, always triumphed and accounted for the successes that so many good people helped me achieve. Without the guidance, advice, cooperation, and support of others, I am sure my life would not have been as fulfilling.

This book provides an empirical analysis rather than a theoretical framework of refugee situations during the Cold War. It focuses on potential refugee-producing situations with a view to prevent occurances where refugees are exploited as a weapon in political strife. In order to forestall the violation of individual rights, the book proposes measures to prevent refugee situations from arising, however, not to prevent persecuted individuals from seeking protection. This second edition shows in its revised parts that the proposals for prevention, including on mediation, early warning, and information-sharing are all being implemented.
